Answer: When hitting the high forehand volley there are a number of advantages to hitting with a slightly open stance. For a right hander, if you try and hit a high ball that is going away from you off your left leg you end up in a very unnatural position that limits your options. Think about hitting off your back leg instead so that your hips are in a more natural open position. You will need to focus on keeping your shoulders square on to the sidewall and concentrate on sending your follow through to your target (whether it be straight or cross court) but the more open stance should feel more comfortable and allow you to have a greater variety of shots. |
