Answer: As squash is a really physical sport, being in great shape is always a benefit. However, it doesn't matter how fit you are, playing squash and having hard rallies hurt! Be aware that whatever the condition of your opponent, they will also be feeling tired at times. Try and use your skill and more importantly, play tactically smart so that you are using less energy and maintaining your physical abilities. From the serve (or return) focus on hitting the corners and don't allow yourself to lose concentration or start to run around without purpose – there's always using height to give yourself a break and reset your position. Not easy but it's really a mental challenge to do this and will improve your game no end. Lastly, believe you can win from the start and focus on your game plan – it may be a work in progress.
